New Business:
1. Nominate/elect new SGT co-chairs
Mary Lewis nominated Jennifer Jay and Emma Ehrlich to serve as co-chairs. There was a call for a vote - all in favor.

2. Review/revise/approve SGT By-Laws
As the members of SGT still need time to review the current By-Laws, Arlene Spaniol volunteered to get them on wikispaces for all to
look at with the following changes decided on at this meeting:
a. membership - 17 staff/teachers
b. 1 administrator
c. 2 students
d. 6 community members/parents

Roundtable:
Allison Brown - 6 to 6 is off to an awesome start this year; ASB will help promote clubs, sports teams, chorus, girls in science, etc.; extended day will begin 11/3 - looking for all the B, BB, and FBB students who could greatly benefit from the additional support after school; there is an abundance of teachers who want to participate in extended day so the kids have to come - it's a 20:1 ratio; teachers really need to promote this to students and parents.

Mary Lewis - SpEd - 60% of the IEP's are out to teachers; professional development will be coming in the future.

Lucinda Bernardino - EL's all have PE on A Day - again placed with all SpEd students - nothing against SpEd students, but Lucinda feels the EL's should experience some general ed students, too.

Scott Lockwood - the language arts department did not lose any teachers so it is much more stable than last year - a good thing.

Jennifer Jay - history scores are up; annual conference is in Houston; Moodle training on site for history teachers and anyone else interested will be 9/23; GATE trip this year is to NYC/DC - parent informational meeting will be 10/2 in the library @ 6 pm; trip will be in May; a Tupperware fundraiser will be held.

ASB students - the first dance of the year will be 9/30 - "Hollywood Nights" - teachers needed to help supervise.

Bev Rambicure - PE a bit concerned about what their class sizes will be when they are down to 4 teachers; PE will be holding their own lunch detentions for tardies and non-suits; Women in Sports Day is in January - more info. coming.

Bobbe Abts - 6th grade Camp will be January 20-23 - Tuesday through Friday - big news is that ALL 6th graders will be attending camp at the same time - yeah!!

Deb Christensen - mentioned lack of supplies - no graph paper, composition books, tablets, etc.; classes on task with the math modules.

Stacy North - 7th and 8th grade interventions classes are very low - more students are needed in the READ 180 classes - should be the BB and FBB students; schedules are changing because students who were eligible last Spring actually moved to proficient and basic on the CST.

Emma Ehrlich - asked aabout Connect Ed - how can teachers use it and could we get some training on it?

Trisha Chung - counseling still working on schedules - there will be more changes ahead especially with PE, math, and SpEd.

Arlene Spaniol - textbooks - all classes have been through and the books are in the hands of students - much smoother this year; asked that teachers really hold students accountable for the condition of books - very costly to replace each year.

Parking Lot:
We need to have a discussion about students being eligible to play sports - 2.0 GPA; yes or no on contracts this year?; last year Bev Rambicure was the Athletic Director and checked grades of students playing sports; where are we on this for this year?

The meeting was adjourned @ 3:45.

Respectfully submitted,

Bobbe Abts
